Baby Love

I have been thinking about this all morning and am not sure what to say. Baby Love passed away this morning. She starting having some serious issues around 4am and by dawn we were off to the vet. It was bad, and I had to make the decision to stop it. I felt it was the only way. I spoke with the neurologist this morning and she agreed. If there had been any hope I would have done anything to save her. I know you all have followed her story for sometime and your thoughts, prayers and donations for surgery have been a blessing. She has meant so much to me. She and I were joined at the hip from the age of 4 weeks so starting over will be hard. She is in every part of the house and yard. I have about a million photos and videos of her. I think the hardest thing will be de programing myself off the routines and scheudles we had. My favorite memories are laughing and cheering her on as she jumped an played in the yard. She loved to be held like a baby and we cuddled almost every night. She loved music, I have a wonderful memory to share with you. One night my husband came home to hear Salsa music blarring in the house and me yelling. In coming in the door her thought "What the heck". What he found was Baby Love and I in the kitchen dancing to the music, she was jumping around and so was I as I cheered her on. I know she felt a lot of love and security, I just wish these last few days were not so much about pills and me being afraid to touch her and more about cuddles and fun in the yard. I have thought all morning about this and have made 2 decisions. One is that I am going to spread some of her ashes at her favorite places in the yard and the rest will go in a beautiful pewter urn. Second, I plan to continue the blog in her name but about my other dogs, her sisters. They were always so good to her and I am sure you guys will love to see and read about them.

To Baby Love:

You were an inspiration to us all. You were a comic, a fighter and a gentle soul!!

Someone told me once that for all I did for you and other animals that I would get a huge crown of jewels in heaven. But he can keep the stones if I can see you again! In all your glory!

I am sosososo sorry to hear about Baby Love. We will remember her as the grass 'hopper' which was such a fun video to watch. I wish that it could have ended differently but it sounds like she had such a lovely life with you. I think your plan of what to do with the ashes is wonderful. Take care. We will love reading about the others. She will have a bunch of my beagles to meet and play with--she'll have fun with them at the Bridge.

I am sorry to hear about this. She has been through a tough life. She has been a brave girl.

Its a comfort to know that she no longer have to suffer.

There was once, we found a pup that has the same condition as Baby Love and worse of all, we dun have any neurologist for animals here.

This poor pup can't control his limbs and will fall everytime he try to walk. Seeing him falling and knocking himself was such a pain. Due to his condition, he can't be toilet trained so it became a chore to clean up after him.

Later when the fosterer can no longer foster him, he was put on long term boarding at a kennel and there begin to have skin condition that can never heal properly if he had to continue to live in the kennel.

In the end, his fosterer and rescuer decide to end his suffering and put him to sleep when he was slightly more than a year old. Its a painful decision but they think that its the best for him.

At least Baby Love gets to lead a more normal life and she is able to have fun like a normal pup. She is already a very blessed pup.

May god bless you and your husband for your kind heart in willing to provide a home and so much love for a pup that most people will not want to take in.

Our thoughts is with you and your family. Baby Love will always be loved and remembered.

Luv and sympathy

We are so sorry !!! We can't think of anything else to say.

Loving them and having to let them go for their sake is the HARDEST decision - of course you made the right one - we will miss seeing her "grass hopping" and finding what looks to be the most uncomfortable sleeping positions we've ever seen, and just being one of the happiest pups around.

Thank you both so much for loving her and giving her the best this life has to offer and allowing her to be who she was no matter what...
She'll always be with you - she touched our lives also...

Continuing the blog with her sisters is a wonderful idea and we'll love to read about their adventures...

We wish we could take away the hurt but we guess that's the price of love...

Please take care - and if we can do anything please just bark at us .....

In her short life, she taught a lot of us the fun of playing in the grass, of enjoying the simple pleasures, of realizing that not everything should be taken seriously, and not every obstacle can stop us from life, love, and enjoyment.

She carried such a burden, but it never stopped her. Thank you for not seeing her physical problems, but loving her for her spirit.

She will be missed, even by those who were touched by her from afar.

The void created is in the heart more than the home. Baby Love will always be a part of you. You did what was best. We know to well how you feel. Baby Love was obviously a very special soul. Here' something our Dad read to us when Chance and Gordon went to the bridge:
The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,

For this – the last battle – can’t be won.

You will be sad I understand,

But don’t let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest,

Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,

You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they’ll tend,

Only, stay with me ‘til the end

And hold me firm and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree

It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its’ last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don’t grieve that it must be you

Who has to decide this thing to do;

We’ve been so close – we two – these years,

Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

Dear Baby Love's Mommy,

Me and the Mommy are so very sorry to her of Baby Love's passing. She was a remarkable dog and she was lucky to have such a loving Mom.The Mommy is crying right now. We did a post earlier this evening about a little dog with will power that was given a chase to live and we know that Baby Love was brave too. The Mommy is gonna ask my sister Samantha, who is at the Rainbow Bridge wating for the Mommy, to look Baby Love up and they can run & play together with all the precious doggies that we have all lost.

We will love to hear about her sisters, so please don't leave the DWB world.

God Bless you...Mona & the Mommy too!!
